Nigerian Woman Arrested With Cocaine in India
The State Monitoring Cell (SMC) has apprehended a Nigerian woman in India for possession of 149.50 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately Rs 1.5 crore. The woman, who resides in Mumbai’s suburban Mira Road, was caught during a planned operation.
How the Arrest Happened
According to SMC Inspector C.H. Panara, the authorities received intelligence about a woman transporting illegal substances from Mumbai to Surat. Acting on the tip, the SMC team kept a close watch on the national highway in Navsari and intercepted her vehicle.
Revealing the Drug Network
Upon questioning, the woman disclosed that she was working under the instructions of Elder, a Nigerian national. She was directed to collect the contraband from Emanuel in Mumbai and deliver it to a contact in Kadodara.
Repeat Offender
Further investigation revealed that this was not her first involvement in drug trafficking. She confessed to making multiple trips, delivering drugs between Surat and Navsari at least 10-12 times over the past 18 months.
Ongoing Investigation
The authorities are now working to uncover the full extent of the drug network and arrest other members involved in this illegal trade.
